Open GIMP by double-clicking on the GIMP icon on your desktop. Select New under the File tab.
The Create a New Image text box will appear on your screen. Change the dialogue box to read inches rather than pixels. To make a CD cover type a 5 inches wide and 5 inches tall in the dialogue box. Find a Large Size picture for your CD cover background in Google Image and drag it onto your desktop. Now minimize Google Images by clicking on the Yellow button in the upper right-hand corner of your dialogue box. Drag your background image into your new 5 x 5 inch template on the desktop. Use the Scale tool in the Tool Box to scale the image to 5 x 5 inches.
Use the move tool to move your scaled image into your 5 x 5 inch template. Save your work onto the desktop by clicking on to “save as” and typing your name plus CD in the upper left-hand save box. Select the desktop for where to save your work.
Now click on the “A” text box and make a text box on your CD cover. Write a title for your CD in the text box and size and choose a font plus font color for your title. Size and move your titles to fit where you want them. Save your file and email it to me!
