Firstly, open Office on the phone and see if your PDF document shows up. If it does then tap on it to open it and you will be given a choice of which PDF reader you would like to open your document with (assuming you have more than one PDF reader) otherwise Adobe reader will launch. If the PDF isn't present within the Office app then try moving the document to the Documents folder on the phone or to your Skydrive folder. The next time you launch Adobe Reader your PDF document will show up in the app.
Hello all, Ray (rayhipkiss) thanks for the advice. And to scoobyman, who had the solution. After copying the file from my (Win7) PC to the phone (and I tried copying it to the SD card) using the USB cable, it would not show up at all, even in Office. Scoobyman suggested that I place the file into my SkyDrive folder. That did it, and it does now appear when I open the Adobe PDF Reader, BUT, it still doesn't show up in the phone when I browse the Phone & SD Card. When I opened the file, it had to download it from SkyDrive first, and then it opened. Not a very neat way of doing things, but I am getting the hang of this Lumia 720 after 4 weeks now.
Some of it is logical, but other things are not too clear! Thanks for your help guys. After downloading Adobe PDF Reader and installing the app, when I open the app, it says NO FILES AVAILABLE. Where do I need to place the PDF file for it to be found? Phil When you insert an SD card for the first time the phone creates a music, video and picture folder on it. There is no document folder created.
No documents will ever be found on the SD card. There is a document folder on the phone. That is where your PDF file should go.
When you open office, documents on the phone, it will be there. That is the way the microsoft pdf reader works. Lumia 1520.3 Surface RT. Philgu0sup wrote: Hello all, Ray (rayhipkiss) thanks for the advice.

Phil Isn't that what I suggested in the second paragraph in my original reply? I did also mention to put the PDF in the documents folder on the phone. Hi chaps, Yes, I did try putting the PDF file into the DOCUMENTS folder on the phone, and no, it was not found by Office. I had downloaded the Adobe PDF Reader, and tried first with that. I then downloaded the Windows PDF Reader, and that didn't find it either. The only way I found it was to place the PDF into the Skydrive folder, and then it showed up in Office, and opening it from there opened the Adobe reader, and the file was downloaded. However, since doing this, placing OTHER pdf's into the Documents folder makes them show up in Office!
Either way, problem now solved, and thanks to all for the replies.
